Each round presents six images from museum collections alongside six label sets — one for each image, shuffled out of order. Your goal is to match every image to its correct label.
Labels appear in the third column. Match them to images in two ways:
Once all six images are matched, the labels column is replaced by the images laid out four across.
The layout places labels between the two image columns. Use the numbered buttons on each label to assign it to an image, or drag and drop onto an image slot.
Tap any image to open the matching panel. Browse the label sets with the arrows — they also cycle automatically. When you find the right label, tap Link to pair them. Repeat until all six are linked.
Images and metadata are drawn from three world-class open-access museum collections.
The Met's collection spans 5,000 years of art from across the globe — ancient Egypt, medieval Europe, Asian ceramics, American paintings, and much more. The Met makes its collection data and images freely available under a Creative Commons Zero (CC0) licence, placing them in the public domain with no restrictions on use.
The Art Institute's collection of over 300,000 works is particularly strong in Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, American art, and Asian art. The museum publishes its collection data and images under a Creative Commons Zero (CC0) licence, with artwork descriptions licensed under CC BY 4.0.
Works drawn from the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the National Portrait Gallery, two of the finest collections of American art in the world. The Smithsonian publishes its open-access images and metadata under a Creative Commons Zero (CC0) licence.
